The Children's Art & Literacy Festival (CALF) starts Thursday night with the Storybook Parade, costumed characters, storybook sculpture unveiling, food trucks and entertainment in downtown Abilene, Texas, the Storybook Capital of America. Events Thursday night are free. Passes are required to attend events Friday and Saturday, which include dramatic readings, art activities, train rides, magic shows, balloon shows, instrument petting zoo, movie fest, live animal petting zoo and more. Earn up to 12 OIiver Jeffers character buttons for your lanyard. Festival activities take place at nearly 20 venues.
